2) ELIGIBILITY

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or guardian.

3) IMPORTANT WILDLIFE SAFETY NOTICE

The Service may display wildlife-related information, including delayed field observations, map pins, field notes, user-submitted sightings, photos, or general wildlife locations. Wildlife is unpredictable and can be dangerous.

YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR SAFETY, DECISIONS, AND ACTIONS IN THE FIELD.

Never:

  • approach wildlife
  • feed wildlife
  • touch wildlife
  • harass wildlife
  • block wildlife movement
  • crowd wildlife or join unsafe roadside activity

Always:

  • follow posted park rules and local regulations
  • maintain safe viewing distances, including a minimum of 25 yards for most wildlife and 100 yards for bears and wolves
  • carry appropriate safety equipment, including bear spray where recommended
  • use binoculars, spotting scopes, or zoom lenses
  • respect closures, private property, and sensitive wildlife areas
  • leave immediately if an animal changes behavior because of your presence

In emergencies, contact local authorities or call 911.

The Service is provided for informational, educational, and trip-planning purposes only. It does not provide professional safety, medical, legal, navigation, guiding, or emergency advice.

4) MAP DATA / NO REAL-TIME GUARANTEE

Map pins, observations, field notes, sightings, photos, dates, and locations may be inaccurate, outdated, incomplete, delayed, generalized, or mislocated.

We do not guarantee that any information on the Service is accurate, current, complete, or reliable.

Do not rely on the Service as:

  • a real-time wildlife tracker
  • a navigation system
  • a safety tool
  • an emergency tool
  • a guarantee of wildlife activity
  • a guide service or guided tour substitute

Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed. Animals move freely, conditions change constantly, and observations may no longer reflect current wildlife activity by the time you arrive in an area.

Use of the Service does not guarantee, promise, or ensure that you will see wildlife.

5) NATIONAL PARK AFFILIATION DISCLAIMER

Where The Wild Beasts Roam is an independent project.

This website is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by:

  • the National Park Service
  • Yellowstone National Park
  • Grand Teton National Park
  • any government agency

Any references to Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, or surrounding areas are for geographic and informational purposes only.

6) DELAYED PUBLISHING; NO REAL-TIME WILDLIFE TRACKING

To help protect wildlife and reduce disturbance:

  • The Service does not publish wildlife observations in real time.
  • Wildlife observations are posted after fieldwork, usually within 12–48 hours.
  • We may apply longer delays for moderation, safety, sensitive wildlife activity, or wildlife protection reasons.
  • We may generalize, obscure, remove, or delay locations when needed to reduce risk to wildlife or visitors.

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • pursue wildlife
  • approach wildlife
  • surround wildlife
  • feed wildlife
  • harass wildlife
  • create or join unsafe wildlife jams
  • encourage others to crowd or disturb wildlife

The Service is not intended to function as a live wildlife tracking tool, guided tour, guiding service, or real-time location service.

7) ASSUMPTION OF RISK

You understand that outdoor environments involve inherent risks, including but not limited to:

  • wildlife encounters
  • bear, wolf, bison, elk, moose, or other animal encounters
  • terrain hazards
  • weather conditions
  • road conditions
  • limited cell service
  • remote areas
  • other visitors, traffic, and roadside activity

By using the Service, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with travel, wildlife viewing, photography, outdoor activity, and decisions made before, during, or after using the Service.

8) ACCOUNTS

If you create an account:

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate account and payment information.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations, misuse, security concerns, or conduct that may harm wildlife, visitors, the Service, or other users.

Certain features of the Service require paid access.

Paid access may include, but is not limited to:

  • access to the wildlife map

  • field notes
  • map filters
  • general viewing areas
  • safety-first planning guidance
  • future map updates or features, when available

Current access options may include:

  • Full Trip Access: a one-time purchase that provides access for the stated access period, currently 30 days.
  • Lifetime Access: a one-time purchase that provides ongoing access unless the Service is discontinued, terminated under these Terms, or your access is otherwise restricted under these Terms.

Unless a product is clearly labeled as recurring before purchase, paid access is not a subscription and does not automatically renew.

Full Trip Access does not automatically renew.

Lifetime Access does not automatically renew.

Prices, access periods, features, and availability may change at any time. Any changes will apply only to future purchases unless otherwise stated.

You are responsible for any taxes, fees, or charges associated with your purchase.

We may use third-party payment processors to process payments. We do not store full credit card details on our servers.

10) 30-DAY MONEY-BACK GUARANTEE & REFUND POLICY

Where The Wild Beasts Roam offers a 30-day money-back guarantee for paid access purchases.

If the map does not help you plan with more confidence, contact us within 30 days of purchase and request a refund.

To request a refund, email:
support@wherethewildbeastsroam.com

Please include the email address used for purchase and a brief note explaining the request.

Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method when possible.

The guarantee does not promise wildlife sightings. Wildlife is wild, animals move constantly, and sightings are never guaranteed.

The guarantee applies to the usefulness of the map as a planning tool, not to whether you see a specific animal, visit a specific location, or experience specific wildlife activity.

We reserve the right to deny refund requests that appear:

  • fraudulent
  • abusive
  • duplicative
  • outside the 30-day guarantee window
  • connected to a violation of these Terms

Except for the 30-day money-back guarantee described above, fees are non-refundable unless required by law.
