You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent you have permission from a parent/guardian.
3) IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE (WILDLIFE IS WILD)
The Service may display wildlife-related information (including user-submitted sightings/locations). Wildlife is unpredictable and can be dangerous.
YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR SAFETY AND DECISIONS IN THE FIELD.
– Never approach, feed, touch, or harass wildlife.
– Follow posted rules and local regulations.
– Keep a safe distance and use binoculars/zoom lenses.
– Do not trespass; respect closures and private property.
– In emergencies, call local authorities/911.
The Service is for informational and educational purposes only and does not provide professional safety, medical, legal, or navigation advice.
4) MAP DATA / NO REAL-TIME GUARANTEE
Map pins, sightings, and content may be inaccurate, outdated, incomplete, or mislocated. We do not guarantee any content is correct or current. Do not rely on the Service as a real-time wildlife tracker, safety system, or emergency tool.
5) DELAYED PUBLISHING; NO REAL‑TIME WILDLIFE TRACKING
To help protect wildlife and reduce the risk of harassment, disturbance, or harmful crowding:
– The Service does not publish wildlife sightings or location pins in real time.
– Public postings of wildlife sightings and locations are subject to a minimum delay of 24 hours (“Delay Period”).
– We may apply longer delays at our discretion (including for moderation, safety, operational reasons, or wildlife protection).
You agree not to use the Service to locate, pursue, approach, surround, feed, or harass wildlife. The Service is not intended to function as a real-time tracking tool, navigation tool, or safety system.
6) ACCOUNTS
If you create an account:
– You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
– You are responsible for activity occurring under your account.
– We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations or security risks.
7) USER CONTENT (PINS, SIGHTINGS, PHOTOS, COMMENTS)
You are solely responsible for content you submit (“User Content”). You represent that:
– You have all rights needed to submit it
– It does not violate law or these Terms
– It does not infringe intellectual property or privacy rights
– It does not encourage unsafe or illegal wildlife interactions
By submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, modify (for formatting), display, publish, distribute, and otherwise use your User Content to operate, improve, and promote the Service.
We may remove or restrict User Content at any time for any reason, including to protect wildlife, comply with law, or enforce these Terms.
SUBMISSIONS; ADMIN REVIEW; EDITING; REJECTION
If you submit content (including a sighting, pin, description, image, or video), you acknowledge and agree:
– Submissions may be held for review and will not appear publicly unless approved by an administrator.
– We may (but are not obligated to) review, approve, reject, remove, restrict, or edit submissions at any time, including to:
(a) protect wildlife or habitat,
(b) comply with law or land manager rules,
(c) remove sensitive location details (e.g., nests/den sites),
(d) reduce risks of trespass, harassment, or unsafe behavior,
(e) enforce these Terms.
– Approval does not mean we verified accuracy, legality, safety, or completeness.
We do not guarantee review times, publication, or continued availability of any submission.
SENSITIVE WILDLIFE / LOCATION PROTECTION
To protect wildlife, we may obscure, generalize, delay, or remove location information (including coordinates, timestamps, or descriptive directions), especially for sensitive species, nesting/denning areas, or locations that could attract crowding or harassment. We may also restrict visibility (e.g., limiting precision or showing only a general area).
8) PROHIBITED USES
You agree not to:
– Encourage or facilitate approaching, feeding, capturing, harming, or harassing wildlife
– Post exact locations of sensitive wildlife in a way that could enable disturbance, poaching, or habitat damage
– Post illegal content, threats, harassment, hate, or content that invades privacy
– Post personal information of others without permission (doxxing)
– Upload malware or attempt to disrupt the Service
– Scrape or copy the Service at scale without written permission
– Use the Service to violate laws, regulations, or land access rules
9) INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
We and our licensors own the Service, including text, design, logos, and software (excluding User Content). You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works except as permitted by law or with our written permission.
10) THIRD-PARTY SERVICES & LINKS
The Service may rely on third-party services (e.g., map providers, analytics) and link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for third-party services or content.
11) COPYRIGHT / DMCA POLICY
We respect intellectual property rights and will respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement as required by law.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE.
13) LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WHERE THE WILD BEASTS ROAM AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, OR FOR ANY INJURY, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR OTHER LOSS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO:
– YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE
– ANY DECISIONS YOU MAKE BASED ON MAPS, PINS, OR CONTENT
– INTERACTIONS WITH WILDLIFE OR PEOPLE
– TRESPASS, LEGAL VIOLATIONS, OR FIELD CONDITIONS
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER, UNLESS REQUIRED OTHERWISE BY LAW.
14) INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Where The Wild Beasts Roam from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including attorneys’ fees) arising from your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or law.
15) TERMINATION
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violations, security concerns, or to protect wildlife and the community.
16) GOVERNING LAW / VENUE
